The CCAC Educational Foundation creates vital connections between the Community College of Allegheny County and the community to ensure the ongoing viability of the college. The foundation fulfills its responsibilities in four ways.
First, the foundation raises funds to support the college through such efforts as the annual fund campaign, honor/memorial giving, planned giving and special events throughout the year. These special events include the annual golf outing and the premier community event, Legends in Leadership. The Foundations also hosts the Heritage Society, an exclusive group recognizing those who have named CCAC in their wills.
Second, the foundation provides funds for new, expanding or otherwise novel programs at CCAC to ensure the college’s ability to anticipate and fulfill the needs of the community.
Third, the foundation provides scholarships to ensure access to the Community College of Allegheny County for students in need. View a slideshow of the 2012 Scholarship Luncheon celebrating donors and recipients of more than $100,000 during the 2011–2012 academic year.
Fourth, the foundation, in connection with the Alumni Affairs office, advocates on behalf of the college in the community at large by reaching out to alumni and past students of the college.
As the college continues to strive toward its goal of providing affordable, accessible and quality education for all, the Community College of Allegheny County is grateful for the support given to the CCAC Educational Foundation.
