Established in 1979, the CCAC Educational Foundation grew out of the understanding that the Community College of Allegheny County would need additional resources in order to provide comprehensive training programs, to ensure continued accessibility and to maintain its reputation of academic excellence in higher education. Each year, the Foundation awards thousands of dollars in scholarships. The scholarships and endowments express the community’s commitment to helping students achieve their educational goals.
CCAC's scholarship process has changed. Students can now apply for scholarships online, rather than submitting paper applications as they have in the past. The Scholarship Tracking and Review System (STARS) enables students to apply for multiple scholarships online in just minutes, with one application.
Scholarship applications for the 2014 spring semester will be opened at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4. The deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 16.
How to Apply
Before registering for STARS, there are several pieces of information that are required:
Complete detailed instructions for using the STARS system can be found by downloading the STARS User Guide. The Foundation recommends that students read all instructions before applying for scholarships, and recommends that students complete the required essays before logging in to apply for scholarships. Please visit CCAC's Tutoring Services for assistance with answering the required essay questions. A list of frequently asked questions for STARS is also available.
After reading the User Guide and gathering the required information, including completing the required essay questions, click the "Apply Online Now" link to apply for scholarships through STARS.
