August
Discount Kennywood Funday Passes: August
$28 for a one day pass. Discount tickets are available to students, staff, and faculty with a valid CCAC ID. Tickets are available at Student Accounts in the SSC Building and at the Homewood-Brushton Center in Keith Ptomey’s office.
Discount SandCastle Whitewater Passes: August
$22 for a one day pass. Discount tickets are available to students, staff, and faculty with a valid CCAC ID. Tickets are available at Student Accounts in the SSC Building and at the Homewood-Brushton Center in Keith Ptomey’s office. 
Student Life Information and Welcome Tables: August 18, 19, and 20
SSC Building 2nd floor, Milton Hall, KLI Science Center, Library Building Lobby from 8:00 AM –
1:00 PM. Student Life staff and Student Ambassadors will answer questions and provide
information. FREE coffee and donuts for students.
Welcome Back Edition of the Allegheny View: August 18 and 19
Jones Hall, 9:30 AM until supplies last. FREE coffee and donuts with a copy of the student newspaper. 
Road Map Check Point: August 27
SSC Building from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Student Life tutors will be available to discuss the Road Map to ensure students are on route to success. 
Pirate Game: August 30
Pirates vs. Reds at 7:05 PM at PNC Park. Block Party on Federal Street at 2:30 PM.
Postgame concert featuring Gavin DeGraw. Students are $6 and $8 and staff are $8 and $10. Discount tickets are available to students, staff, and faculty with a valid CCAC ID. Tickets are available at Student Accounts in the SSC Building and at the Homewood-Brushton Center in Keith Ptomey’s office.

Allegheny Campus Cafe Patio from 5:00 - 6:00 PM. Music, food and giveaways. $2 for students and $5 for non-students. 
Cougar Athletic Information Session: September 10
Physical Education Building Gym at 3:00 PM.
9/11 Memorial Trip to Shanksville, PA: September 11
Bus leaves CCAC at 9:00 AM and returns at 4:00 PM. This is a FREE trip. Reserve your seat at the Student Life office in Jones Hall. 
Pirate Game: September 12
Pirates vs. Cubs at 7:05 PM at PNC Park. FREE shirt Friday! Discount tickets are available to

Milton Hall Amphitheater from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Music, food sales, and information about student clubs, organizations, and events. Homewood-Brushton Center from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Students will have the opportunity to start or re-activate a club at the Homewood-Brushton Center.

KLI Science Building in the Highmark Room at 12:00 PM. Students will focus on "Planning and Organizing" during the workshop. FREE pizza lunch.

Milton Hall Amphitheater from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. FREE boxed lunch and lecture on National Coming Out Day with Dr. Langstraat. 
Student Life’s Owning Your Academic Success Workshop: October 10

Health Fair: October 27
SSC Building Auditorium Lobby from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Enroll America and various health and wellness agencies will provide information. Homewood-Brushton time is TBA. Enroll America will provide health insurance information.

Jones Hall Cougars’ Den from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Costume contest, karaoke and FREE pizza for anyone in a costume.

November 
Richard "Ske" McClain Memorial Tournament: November 15
The Cougars play Anne Arundel in the Physical Education Building Gym. Women’s game is at
2:00 PM and men’s game is at 4:00 PM. Memorial presentation will be held prior to the men’s game. Donations will be accepted for the Homewood-Brushton YMCA.
November Edition of the Allegheny View: November 17
SSC Building 2nd floor at 10:00 AM until supplies last. FREE coffee and donuts with a copy of the student newspaper. Homewood-Brushton Center from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 5:00 -
6:00 PM. FREE refreshments while supplies last. 
History of Thanksgiving: November 19
SSC Building Auditorium from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Learn about the history of Thanksgiving and enjoy a turkey dinner with all of the fixings. $3 for students and $5 for non-students. Tickets are available at the door. Take-out will not be available. Homewood-Brushton Center is TBA.
Professor Rasheed Murphy will give students a different perspective on Thanksgiving in
American History.

December

FREE Coffee and Water for Finals Week: December 9 - 12
SSC Building 2nd floor from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM on December 9,10,11, and 12.
Homewood-Brushton Center from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 5:00 - 7:00 PM on December 9 and 10.
Nutcracker Ballet: December 14
4:30 PM at the Benedum Center. Discounted tickets are available to students, staff, and
faculty with a valid CCAC ID. Please call Student Life for ticket prices. Tickets are available at
Student Accounts in the SSC Building and at the Homewood-Brushton Center in Keith Ptomey’s office.
Seven Springs Ski Trip: December 16
Bus leaves CCAC at 7:30 AM. Register in the Student Life office in Jones Hall and at
Homewood-Brushton in Keith Ptomey’s office. $25 for students and $30 for non-students.Ticket includes ski OR snow board rental, lift ticket, and bus transportation.

Student Life

Student Life recognizes STAR students in clubs, organizations, recreation, and athletics during an annual awards ceremony every spring. Students are FREE and $5 for guests. The STAR Awards features a reception and students, staff, and faculty are treated to a formal dinner with live music. Awardees receive trophies and student artists are highlighted, including performances from the CCAC Dance Club and CCAC Choir. Check out the event pictures below!
