Responsibilities of the Steering Committee:

  • Develop self-study design, the report, and the follow-up report
  • Develop the charges for self-study by each Task Force, and submit these to the Steering Committee for review
  • Select number, focus, and composition of the Task Forces and Task Force Chairs and co-chairs
  • Attend and participate in each Steering Committee Meeting
  • Determine structure, presentation, and editing guidelines for the presentation of all documentation
  • Make certain that all aspects of the report contend with the Special Emphasis of the Comprehensive Study: planning
  • Coordinate liaison and peer site team visits
  • Establish appropriate work guidelines for the task forces and provide a clear timetable for completion of all reports
  • Review drafts of reports from each task force, and direct reports, when necessary, to other task forces; arrange for the discussion of reports, incorporate campus input appropriate to each campus, and continue to promote the self-study process as a critical review of the college at large
  • Maintain a record of all college activities associated with the self-study
  • Approve drafts of the self-study report, making recommendations for changes in the light of commentary from the college community
  • Work toward the CCAC response to the MSCHE report on CCAC’s self-study
