The CCAC Intercollegiate Ice Hockey Team was formed at the North Campus in 2003 where it has been highly competitive--winning the Collegiate Hockey Association Championship in 2005 and 2008. Our team is affiliated with the American College Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Collegiate Hockey Association (CHA). Our program is open to students of any age or sex, provided they are able to compete at the intercollegiate level. All students participating on the team pay a fee for the privilege of playing on the team and must maintain high academic standards.
Students interested in joining the Ice Hockey Team should download and complete the NJCAA Athletic Information Form (below) and return it to the Student Life office or turn it in at the tryouts. All students ARE REQUIRED to have a physical before tryouts.
The fees for the season are $1400 for North Campus students and $1500 for non-North Campus students. The Goalie fee is $700. One half of the payment is due on September 28 and full payment is due on November 9. No players are permitted to skate until payments are made. There will be a $100 discount given if full payment is made by September 28.
The team is looking for volunteers to videotape the games. If you are interested, please contact Chuck Bell at 412.369.3725 or email@example.com
The CCAC North Campus Intercollegiate Ice Hockey Team hosted their sixth annual benefit hockey game on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center. This year’s charity event was played against the Pittsburgh Celebrity Hockey Team and benefited The Best of the Batch Foundation.
Every player's game-worn jersey was sold and that money was added in with game and auction ticket sales. There were 43 items auctioned off, most notably an autographed Marc-Andre Fleury hockey jersey, autographed Charlie Batch mini footballs, a night's stay at Hyatt Place along with a $100 Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse gift card, and various gift cards from local eateries.
To date, the team has raised $3,017 for the Best of the Batch Foundation. These proceeds will be used for BatchPacks which is a back-to-school initiative that supplies students with school supplies and a backpack.
Over the past six years, the CCAC–North Campus Intercollegiate Ice Hockey team has raised $16,500 for local charities.
