Center for Health Careers

CCAC is committed to building its capacity and developing new models for delivering world-class health care education programs to meet the needs of the vital health care industry. The Center for Health Careers is intended to advance program offerings, recruit high-quality students, and improve student success.

CCAC plays an important role in regional healthcare preparation. It is the second largest provider of associate’s degrees in nursing in the nation. CCAC also ranked no. 5 nationally and no. 1 in Pennsylvania in associate’s degrees awarded in health professions and related clinical sciences (Community College Week, June 16, 2008)

Credit
The Center for Health Careers provides Health Career credit programs for students seeking traditional degrees, certificates, and diplomas.

CCAC has more than 30 credit programs, 60 faculty members, and partnerships with almost every major hospital and health care provider in the region – including the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and West Penn Allegheny Health System.

Non-credit
CCAC non-credit health personal and professional courses present ample opportunity for both business and individuals to enhance their skills outside the degree process. The Center for Health Careers offers professional continuing education through customized training for local business and industry. Individuals can boost existing skills or develop new ones for better positioning in the healthcare workplace. Our flexible course delivery includes distance learning, on-site customized training, and our many locations throughout the community.
