Students who wish to gain more information about themselves in relation to their values, career interests, academic abilities, personality traits or choosing a major are invited to make an appointment with a counselor. Our career counselors assist students in determining an appropriate course of action that results in meaningful and informed decision-making. Gaining an awareness of occupational and personal temperaments, study habits and job values is vital for making decisions. Career testing and interpretation is available through Counselor referral.
A Career Library is available for use with information on careers, job descriptions, salary ranges, educational qualifications, job outlook and related information.
A one-credit course, Career Planning, enables students to develop clear educational and career goals through a systematic process for career choice. This course offers students the opportunity to assess their interests, values, personality and skills. Students are encouraged to translate their academic experience to the work world by exploring trends in the job market and to make well-informed and creative decisions about career choice.
To register for this course, contact the Registration Office at any campus. Course information: SDS 101, Career Planning, one credit.
