College to assist Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse in developing biotechnology work force as part of $17.2 million federal training initiative

The biotechnology field is expected to be one of the fastest growing employment sectors by 2012. Nationwide, the industry is expected to employ nearly 815,000 workers by 2007.

CCAC and the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse will develop curriculum to meet needs identified by local biotechnology and medical device employers. Other partners in the project are Renal Solutions Inc., the Pittsburgh Technology Council, the Allegheny County Workforce Investment Board and the Allegheny County CareerLink.
