Martha Woodward Isler is director of public policy, United Way of Westmoreland County, School Readiness Initiative, where she is responsible for educating elected officials on the importance of investing in early childhood programs and services, bringing a five county western regional focus to state committees, and supporting models for improving the school readiness for at-risk children through kindergarten transition activities. She is the former director, Early Childhood Initiative, United Way of Allegheny County and a former associate executive director, YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh for Child Care Partnerships. Her long history of working on behalf of children includes developing and directing one of the first Head Start systems in the country for Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, New Jersey.

Currently serving as a certified trainer/consultant with The National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA), Ms. Isler is a founding member of the boards of PA Partnerships for Children, NARA and the Pennsylvania Association of Child Care Agencies. She holds permanent Pennsylvania teacher certification and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, special education K-12 from The Pennsylvania State University. Ms. Isler became a member of the CCAC Board of Trustees in September 2004 and her term lasts through September 2010.
