The CCAC North Ice Hockey team played their sixth annual benefit game on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center.  This year's game was played against the Pittsburgh Celebrity Hockey Team and benefited The Best of the Batch Foundation.  Every player's game-worn jersey was sold and that money was added in with game and auction ticket sales.  There were 43 items auctioned off, most notably an autographed Marc-Andre Fleury hockey jersey, autographed Charlie Batch mini footballs, a night's stay at Hyatt Place along with a $100 Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse gift card and various gift cards to local eateries.

The team raised slightly over $3,000 for the Best of the Batch Foundation.  The proceeds will be used for BatchPacks which is a back-to-school initiative that supplies students with school supplies and a backpack.

In the six years that the team has sponsored these benefit games, they have raised over $16,500 for local charities such as the Koman Foundation, JDRF, The Mario Lemieux Foundation, Crisis Center North, Western Pennsylvania Humane Society and the Best of the Batch Foundation.
