WEDnetPA Training Program

The Community College of Allegheny County is a veteran partner with the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA), which facilitates the Commonwealth's Guaranteed Free Training (GFT) program. The GFT Program allows qualified employers to access funding for a wide range of workforce training topics. Qualifying companies can receive up to $450 per eligible employee for Basic Skills Training and up to $850 per eligible employee for Information Technology Training.


Designed to benefit both employees and employers, Basic Skills Training provides instruction in a variety of entry level and basic skills needed to be successful in the workplace. Some types of training include:

  • Business Operations
  • Computer Training – Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Access, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • Product & Process Control
  • Manufacturing Fundamentals – soldering, blueprint reading, etc.
  • Workplace Health & Safety
  • Advanced Manufacturing/Integrated Systems Training

 

Information Technology Training is comprised of specific high-level computer skills and advanced manufacturing skills dependent on the type and scope of the business. Some types of training include:

  • Database Development
  • Website Design & Development
  • Computer Programming
  • Applied Manufacturing Technologies, such as PLCs and other higher end skills
