
Richard “Rick” Adams has served in numerous capacities during his 23 years with CCAC, including assistant to the executive dean, South campus; acting assistant to the president; public information officer; assistant dean, Homewood-Brushton center; assistant dean of recruitment and outreach and assistant dean of multi-cultural affairs. Most recently, he was the director for college and community diversity initiatives.
Rick is a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh’s East End. A graduate of Westinghouse High School, he received a BA from Bowdoin College with a double major in Government and Afro-American Studies and earned a MA in Business Communications from Jones International University.
Rick is a member of the executive committee of The Institute of the Black World 21st Century (IBW) and an associate member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE). His commitment to community service includes serving as a member of the Pittsburgh Human Relations Commission and as an elected member of the Pittsburgh School Board. He has also been a radio talk show host for over eight years.
