Clyde Wilson Pickett oversees CCAC’s Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion as special assistant to the president for Diversity and Inclusion. He is responsible for coordinating civil rights compliance and promoting a culture of inclusion across the institution. Mr. Pickett has more than 12 years of experience in higher education leadership at both private and public universities, most recently as director of multicultural development for Ohio Northern University. There he contributed to a 43% increase in retention and increased enrollment of students of color, reestablished a campus multicultural center and grew diversity programming by a factor of ten.
Mr. Pickett has presented and lectured widely, including for the University of Kentucky; Lima, Ohio, City Schools; Marietta College; The Ohio Diversity Officers Consortium; Hardin County, Ohio, Health Department; and the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education. He has also founded two diversity and educational consulting firms.
Mr. Pickett completed his B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Kentucky and his M. Ed in Adult and Higher Education Leadership, with an emphasis in Counseling and Multicultural issues, from Morehead State University.
