The Child Development Club provides many involvement opportunities for parents, students and their children. Students pursuing a degree in childcare related fields, such as Social Work, Education, Nursing and many others can greatly benefit from involvment with the Child Development Club.
The club hosts a variety of guest speakers and field trips which pertain to and provide information on topics of interest to members. Topics and issues range from childcare, child rearing and health issues to parental support, nutrition, educational activites and support for parents.
Each semester, the club participates in fundraisers, such as bakes sales, hoagie sales and basket raffles. Fundraisers earn money for child related activities in the Center and are used to support an organization which members choose. The Child Development Club sponsors Toys for Tots drive that helps children in need during the holiday season.
The goal and purpose of the Child Development Club is to enhance student and parent experiences in their involvement with children.
