The mission of the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity is to:

  • Promote diversity and equity that is supportive of all without regard to race, gender, age, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, creed, religion, culture, or physical and mental abilities among College staff, faculty, students and administration.
  • Assist all CCAC employees to become diversity-sensitive and cross-culturally competent by offering workshops, speakers, formal instruction and other assistance. 
  • Nurture an environment attractive to international students that connects CCAC to the global community.
  • Monitor College policies, regulations, and operating procedures insuring inclusive and equitable treatment of all staff, faculty, administrators, students and members of the public.
  • Change the culture of CCAC by institutionalizing diversity and equity as core values and best practices of the college.

College Diversity and Equity Council Mission Statement
The mission of the CCAC Diversity and Equity Council is to be a vehicle for students, staff administrators, and faculty to advise the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity (OIDE) and support the College's diversity and equity initiatives.  The Council will review the College Diversity Plan, receive regular progress reports, participate in the annual evaluation and contribute to the development of new objectives. The Council will meet at least once a year with the Citizen's Diversity Committee to receive input from the external community on the College's diversity and equity initiatives.

MWDBE Business Enterprise Policy
Community College of Allegheny County in recognition of its commitment to the community and in keeping with its mission statement and strategic plan has created administrative policies and procedures to ensure that eligible minority, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises ("MWDBE") have equal opportunity to participate fully and fairly in the College's procurement and contract awards.
