Datatel User Interface (UI) 4.3 Upgrade

The User Interface that you currently use to access Datatel will change from the current software that is installed on your PC to a web-based interface* that you will access via your Internet browser. The new interface is chock full of new features to make your user experience more efficient and attractive. The screens and functions you work with daily will remain the same.

*This web-based system will only be available within the CCAC network.

WHY:
Datatel will end support for UI 3.2 desktop version as of June 30, 2012.

Their interface has been reengineered to provide increased performance, flexible printing, improved security and enhanced productivity.

HOW:
Training is online in Moodle.
You will participate in training daily, completing a 20-30 minute activity each day. These activities will include watching a training video, completing a practice exercise, and contributing to an online discussion forum. These activities are designed to introduce you to the new version, get hands-on practice, and share with your colleagues throughout the week. You will receive messages to guide your work. By Friday of that week, you will be working with the new version. You may work in a quicker or slower fashion if necessitated by your job duties.

ACT NOW:
Participate in the Moodle online course Datatel UI 4.3 at your earliest convenience and make the switch to the new version.

NOTES:

  • If you only use CCAC Central e-Services, there will be no change to the system at this time; please ignore this message.
  • If you use Query Builder, you can continue to use the old desktop interface until the Informer Reporting product is rolled out; stay tuned for details on training and rollout.
  • If you use Communications Management, you will use the old desktop interface for these functions until your documents are converted to work in the new version.
  • You will need earbuds/headset or a speaker-bar to view the training videos. You can request a speaker-bar from the ServiceDesk if audio will not disturb your officemates. Or you can purchase inexpensive earbuds from the campus bookstore or your nearest discount/dollar store.
