
Donna L. Imhoff, PhD joined CCAC in 1985, first serving as a professor at the North campus. She later served in a variety of roles, working as the acting assistant director of social service career programs at North campus and a career counselor and professor at South campus and the Downtown center. Her CCAC experience encompasses work as an academic advisor for more than seven years and an American Federation of Teachers (AFT) union vice president for a total of eight years. She was named an associate professor of psychology at South campus in 2001 and a professor in 2003, where her work included teaching courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Human Growth and Development and Social Psychology. Dr. Imhoff was also named department chair of social and behavioral sciences at South campus in 2005. In July 2008, she was named campus president–North campus and the West Hills center.
She received the NISOD Excellence in teaching Award at the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in 2003. Her presentations have included efforts within the college and at national conferences on a variety of topics including services to students with disabilities, classroom learning versus workplace expectations, assessment of student learning and sexual identity development.
Dr. Imhoff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in rehabilitation education from Penn State University, a Master of Science in education in school psychology from Duquesne University, a master’s certificate in women’s studies from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate in social and comparative analysis in education from the University of Pittsburgh.
Prior to joining CCAC, Dr. Imhoff worked with the Association for Retarded Citizens (now known as Achieva) in Pittsburgh, specializing in improving the lives of disabled adults.
