PITTSBURGH— Students and community members are invited to learn about how they can receive training in two years or less toward more than 18 high-paying and highly rewarding careers at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). The CCAC Skilled Trades and Services Fair will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at CCAC West Hills center, 1000 McKee Road, Oakdale. The event is open to high school students, CCAC students and members of the public.
Participants can engage in hands-on contests and view live trade demonstrations throughout the day in Automotive, Carpentry, Heavy Equipment Operation, HVAC, Iron Working, Plumbing and Welding.
These skilled trades and services offer students the opportunity to earn certificates in a short period of time so that they are able begin to work in the field, often in high-paying positions, while they continue at CCAC to fulfill the requirements for the degree programs.
Lunch and refreshments will be served.
RSVP by November 17 to rlogreco@ccac.edu or 412.788.7500. Arrivals for groups of five or more are available from 9:00 a.m. through noon. Visit www.ccac.edu, search keywords “trades fair” for more information.
