PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 668 have reached an agreement for a new three-year contract.
The collective bargaining agreement was ratified by union members in October and approved by the college’s Board of Trustees today. It calls for wage increases of 3 percent each year of the contract, which will be retroactive to September 1, 2009.
“CCAC is pleased to reach this fair agreement with the union,” said President Alex Johnson, PhD. “I look forward to working with our valued employees to provide the best possible service to the learners who choose CCAC for their education.”
“It is important to note that this contract maintains job security, upward mobility and continuation of good and affordable health care coverage for our membership,” said Donna-rené Ferris, SEIU system wide steward.
The union represents about 384 secretarial, library, accounting, clerical, housekeeping and maintenance personnel at CCAC.
