PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) Allegheny campus music department presents “Swinging at the Rex” at 7:30 p.m. May 5 at the Rex Theater, 1602 East Carson St., South Side. Tickets are available at the Rex Box Office, $10 General Admission, $5 for students and faculty with CCAC ID.
The concert is sponsored by the Society for Creative Musicians student organization at CCAC and Allegheny Campus Student Life. Proceeds will benefit the Society for Creative Musicians and the group’s commitment to helping CCAC music students cover the expense of private study as part of their curriculum requirements.
Singers and instrumentalists from the music department will perform selections from “Chicago,” “Love Is All You Need, a tribute to the Beatles” and “Man of LaMancha,” as well as instrumental selections featuring saxophone, guitar, bass, trap set, piano, viola and banjo.
The Community College of Allegheny County is the largest institution of postsecondary higher education in Pennsylvania.
