
The Early bird Contract extension offer (copied below) was proposed to AFT members November 19, 2010 during the General Membership Meeting, and then mailed to all members. A ratification meeting was held December 11th, during which the attending members voted to approve/ratify the proposal.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY
AFT Contract Proposal
The administration of the Community College of Allegheny County recognizing the uncertainty of the current economic conditions in the State of Pennsylvania and at the Federal Level and the interest of the College and the AFT in continuing with our mutual agenda focusing on student success is proposing an early settlement of the next Contract. This would permit all AFT members and the College to plan for the future.
The College is proposing that the American Federation of Teachers Local 2067; AFL-CIO and the Administration agree to a three year Early Bird Contract that would:
First, retain all provisions of the 2008-2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement
between the Community College of Allegheny County and the American Federation
of Teachers Local 2067; AFL-CIO except for Appendix A—Point Salaries,
Minimum Increases, and Maximum IncreasesSecond, offer the following changes to Appendix A—Point Salaries, Minimum Increases, and Maximum Increases
that would provide for salaries as outlined below:
Using the Point Salary Scale for September 1, 2010 as given on page 51 of the current contract and as copied.

Beginning September 1, 2011 the minimum salary increase would be 2.5 percent and the maximum salary increase would be 3.5 percent;
Beginning September 1, 2012 the minimum salary increase would be 2.75 percent and the maximum increase would be 3.75 percent;
A wage reopener would be negotiated during the 2012-2013 academic year to go into effect beginning September 1, 2013.
