02/23/2011 -- Dietetics program at CCAC announces nutrition fair

PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) will hold a nutrition fair sponsored by the Dietetics program on Thursday, March 10 at the Allegheny Campus in celebration of National Nutrition Month.  

The fair will feature a presentation on nutrition entitled, “Performance Eating: How Good Can You Be? Do it Right!” by guest speaker Leslie Bonci, the Director of Sports Nutrition at UPMC as well as the Sports Dietitian for the Pitt Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. 

Demonstrations to be presented include:

  • Healthy Snacking
  • Healthy Fats
  • Taste the Rainbow
  • Get Moving!
  • Three Dairy Every Day
  • Portion Distortion
  • Fight BAC-Food Safety

The fair will be held from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. in the Foerster Student Services Center auditorium and reception area. Booths will feature free giveaways, food samples and plenty of nutrition information. The nutrition fair is open to the entire CCAC community and members of the press are also invited to attend.
