03/10/2011 -- CCAC–North Campus celebrates Women’s History Month

PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC)–North Campus, in conjunction with Student Life and the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI), will hold several events honoring Women’s History Month from March 21–31.

Activities include:

  • Women’s History Month display
  • “Role of Women in Islamic Culture” featuring a guest speaker from the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh
  • Brown bag lunch discussion regarding issues women face, moderated by Dr. Srujana Kanjula
  • “Women in Traditional Arts”, a seminar featuring lessons on weaving, Native American beading and spinning.
  • Presentation on infamous women throughout history and their handwriting
  • Performance by singer/songwritier Joy Ike
