Jerry Lopes

Jerry Lopes is a member of the executive committee of the CCAC Educational Foundation Board of Directors. In addition to his work on behalf of the college, he is president of Program Operations and Relations for American Urban Radio Networks (AURN), the largest African American owned radio network company in the country, which provides news, sports and entertainment programming to more than 300 radio stations across the county. AURN is headquartered in Pittsburgh and has offices and bureaus in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Atlanta and Chicago.

Originally from Providence, RI, Jerry serves as a member of the board of visitors at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL, the School of Journalism at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL, and of the radio advisory committee for the Paley Museum in New York. Jerry has been the recipient of numerous awards including a “Heroes in the Struggle” Award from the Los Angeles-based Black AIDS Institute for his work on behalf of HIV/AIDS. He was honored for his leadership by the National Minority Business Development Agency in Washington, DC, and for the past five years has been voted one of the top 35 African Americans in radio by Radio Ink magazine.

Jerry is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He attended Johnson and Wales College in Providence, RI, and Boston University, where he majored in broadcast journalism and public relations.
