Society for Social Advocacy

The society for social advocacy was officially recognized as an organization at CCAC South Campus on December 13, 2010. This organization strives to empower students through outreach in the community through awareness, speakers, events and collaboration with other students, groups, faculty, staff and community members.

 On Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 6 pm, the Society for Social Advocacy hosted a Veterans Day Candle Light Vigil which took place at the main entrance of CCAC South Campus.

Past Events

In their first year, the society has helped by having a bake sale as a part of the Game Show Night for Grady’s All-Stars and sold tickets for the event as well.

During the month of April 2011, the society teamed up with the Make-a-Wish foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia to sell stars and hold a Lanes of Love fundraiser at Coral Lanes. Between the two fundraisers, the group raised an astonishing $1,263!
