Graduates in the Nursing Associate of Science degree are qualified to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination and, upon successful completion of the exam, can find employment in the public and private sectors registered nurses (RNs). Employers include private and public hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and private duty service. In the Allegheny County area, entry-level salaries average $44,260 with experienced salaries averaging $67,240. Overall salaries average $59,580. Annual openings near 733 are expected in the Three Rivers Area over each of the next ten years, an increase of 15.85%1. Over 4,400 annual openings are projected in Pennsylvania through 20183.

National Level:

On a national level, registered nurses (RNs) held about 2.6 million jobs in 2010. In 2010, the median annual wages of registered nurses (RNs) were $67,720. The middle half of the occupation earned between $52,980 and $79, 020. The top 10% of registered nurses (RNs) averaged $95,130, and the bottom 10% earned less than $44,190.
