Overview of PA Education Assistance Program (EAP)
Basic Eligibility
PA-EAP is for individuals serving in the PA National Guard. To meet eligibility requirements, you must:
- Have a six-year agreement with the PA National Guard
- Sign an EAP Form-1 and submit an EAP Form-2 on the same date
- Have graduated Basic Training, advanced camp, or the equivalent
- Be actively participating in a unit of the PA National Guard and meeting unit standards
- Have a guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty Scholarship through ROTC
- Be a resident of Pennsylvania
- Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at a PHEAA approved school located in PA.
Basic Benefits
Full-time funding may be provided to students working on a program up to a bachelor’s degree (if you don’t already have a bachelor’s).
Only part-time funding can be provided for education beyond your first bachelor’s degree. Part-time funding can include:
- Certificates
- Associates
- 1st and 2nd Bachelors
- Graduate studies
Benefits may be extended if the member was mobilized, for the length of time of deployment.
