This is a community-based initiative funded by the National Endowment for the Arts to promote reading, literacy and open dialogue. Partners participating in this program include school districts, community-based organizations and public libraries to host more than 70 events throughout the city of Pittsburgh during March 2013. “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter,” by Carson McCullers, is the book that was chosen for reading in 2013.
