The Veterans in Energy Training Project  is a new initiative with a two-fold purpose:

1. To match veterans' skills, experience and programs of study at CCAC for the consideration of employment opportunities in the energy sector, particularly in the Marcellus Shale industry, and
2. To provide gap funding of up to 6 credits (tuition & fees) and $200 (books) in a semester.

The project is based on CCAC's Marcellus Shale Energy Training Strategy, which identifies CCAC certificate and degree programs, linking them to sustainable, high-skill, high priority occupations. These programs are considered primary or directly related to the industry. Another set of secondary programs that support the industry are also included.

  NOTE: This four-year certificate program has special admissions requirements. It offers qualifying applicants occupational training under the sponsorship of the local Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) of the Western Pennsylvania Operating Engineers.

It offers qualifying applicants occupational training under the sponsorship of the local Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) of the Western Pennsylvania International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local #5).
