2013 CCSSE Survey Results

Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) focuses on institutional practices and student behaviors that promote student engagement.  CCAC completed its fourth administration of CCSSE in spring 2013.  Results from previous surveys have been used to focus efforts on increasing the amount of active and collaborative learning in the classroom; bridging academics and support services; and improving student effort.

The survey results will be shared throughout the fall 2013 semester.  CCSSE encourages institutions to develop a culture of evidence – an institutional standard of using data to drive decisions.  Sharing and objectively discussing data can be difficult.  When used effectively, however, data can help identify areas for improvement so that efforts and resources are allocated to improve student success.

About CCSSE Benchmarks –
CCSSE clusters thirty-eight of the most important survey questions into five conceptually related categories called benchmarks.  Standardized scores are calculated for each category making it possible to compare our performance in the five areas with groups of similar colleges.
