PITTSBURGH—Community College of Allegheny County student Shawn Hinnebusch has been named a 2014 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Bronze Scholar. Each year, community college students from across the nation compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze honors in the All-USA Community College Academic Team competition. The program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
A resident of McCandless, Hinnebusch was selected as Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Scholar based upon his scores earned in the All-USA Community College Academic Team competition. Students were judged on their academic rigor, grade point average, academic and leadership awards and engagement in college and community service.
As Coca-Cola Bronze Scholar, Hinnebusch will receive a $1,000 scholarship. In addition, he will receive a keepsake medallion and will be recognized at the 2014 Annual Meeting and All-Pennsylvania Academic Team Scholar Banquet and Awards Ceremony March 31 in Harrisburg, Pa.
