PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) will celebrate its 2013 commencement ceremony at 7:00 this evening in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. More than 5,000 students, family members, faculty, staff and other guests are expected to attend to recognize the graduates who will participate in the ceremony.

Mark A. Nordenberg, chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh, will be the event’s keynote speaker, discussing the partnership between the two institutions and the value of higher education. He will be awarded an honorary associate of arts in humane letters degree at the ceremony. More CCAC graduates transfer to the University of Pittsburgh than any other university.
