CCAC North Campus women’s bowlers are seventh in the nation at NJCAA National Championship

PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County North Campus Women’s Bowling team finished seventh in the nation at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Bowling Tournament, which was held at the Airport Lanes in Buffalo, N.Y., on March 3 and 4. A total of 17 women’s teams competed in the tournament.

The CCAC team was led by Danielle Romitz (Shaler), who finished seventh in Women’s Singles and 14th in Women’s All Events. Other members of the women’s team include Aimee Gmuer (Gibsonia), Cammy Nickel (Shaler), Mahriah Simpson (Ross) and Lindsey Nickel (Shaler). The CCAC North Campus women’s team also defeated the host school and powerhouse, Erie County Community College, for the first time.

On the men’s side of the tournament, CCAC North Campus bowler Bruno Staniszewski (Shaler) finished eighth in the nation in Men’s Singles and 34th in Men’s All Events.
