CCAC to hold Open Houses at all campuses and centers on Wednesday, April 3

PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County will host Open Houses at all eight of its locations on Wednesday, April 3, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This free event welcomes all prospective students, their family members and friends.

Individuals who bring their high school transcript, college transcript or GED can complete their CCAC registration. Attendees can take placement tests, meet with an advisor and learn about CCAC's program offerings in the arts and humanities; business; education, social and behavioral sciences and human services; health; science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and the skilled trades. CCAC staff will be on hand to answer questions about admissions and enrollment procedures, financial aid options, transfer and career opportunities, and college services, sports, clubs and other activities. CCAC personnel will also conduct tours of the facilities for interested students and their families.

  • Associate degree, certificate & diploma programs
  • Programs designed to facilitate easy transfer to four-year colleges & universities
  • In-demand careers that offer strong wages & career growth
  • Scholarships, grants & financial aid opportunities
  • Day, evening, weekend & online course offerings



In addition, CCAC will offer a variety of program demonstrations at its campuses and centers, including:

Allegheny Campus: Culinary Arts, science and health fields. The campus will also offer a Faculty & Staff Meet & Greet and a Student Life Spring Festival featuring student clubs & organizations, games, food, caricature artists, balloon artists and other activities.

Boyce Campus: A Health Careers Fair will feature interactive demonstrations by all Health career program. Demonstrations will also be offered in Business; Arts & Humanities; Education, Social & Behavioral Sciences; and STEM programs. Other activities will include intramural games, food and a selfie station. Student clubs and organizations and the Job Corps Culinary program will also be featured.

Homewood-Brushton Center: Entrepreneurship; Barber School; and Certified Nursing Assistant.

North Campus: Nursing; Biology; Business; Psychology; Mathematics; Criminal Justice & Criminology; and Multimedia Programming, Simulation & Gaming. Other activities will include a student panel, a performance by the dance team, on-demand campus tours, placement testing and FAFSA completion. North Campus will also hold a Job Fair on April 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

South Campus: Film Technician, Engineering.

West Hills Center: Skilled Trades.
