ALERT: CCAC will be closed January 19, 20 and 21, 2019 with all weekend classes cancelled

Due to inclement weather conditions, all CCAC campuses, centers and off-campus locations will be closed on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20 and all weekend classes will be cancelled. The college will also be closed on Monday, January 21 to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The college will reopen for business on Tuesday morning, January 22.

CCAC to hold College Kickstart Day at all campuses and centers on Wednesday, April 18

PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County will host College Kickstart Day at all eight of its locations on Wednesday, April 18,  from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CCAC is offering two additional open houses scheduled for Saturday, May 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 18, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. These free open house events are open to all prospective students, their family members and friends. 

Individuals who bring their high school diploma, GED or college transcripts can complete their CCAC registration in one day. Attendees can take placement tests, meet with an advisor and learn about CCAC's program offerings in the arts and humanities; business; education, social and behavioral sciences and human services; health; science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and the skilled trades. CCAC staff will be on hand to answer questions about admissions and enrollment procedures, financial aid options, transfer and career opportunities and college services, sports, clubs and other activities.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Associate degree, certificate & diploma programs
  • Programs designed to facilitate easy transfer to four-year colleges & universities
  • In-demand careers that offer strong wages & career growth
  • Scholarships, grants & financial aid opportunities
  • Day, evening, weekend & online courses

In addition, CCAC will offer program demonstrations at each of its campuses as well as at its West Hills Center. These include: West Hills Center-Mechatronics and Automotive; North Campus-Biology, Math, Early Childhood Education and Criminal Justice; Boyce Campus-Massage Therapy and Nursing; South Campus-Film Technician; Allegheny Campus-Criminal Justice and Biotechnology. The Allegheny Campus event will begin with a faculty meet & greet, followed by a panel discussion that will include students, faculty and administrators.  

CCAC personnel will also conduct tours of the facilities for interested students and their families. All CCAC Kickstart Day locations are open to the media, including still/video cameras. Email for more information.
