CCAC to hold Open Houses at all campuses and centers on Saturday, May 11

PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County will host Open Houses at all eight of its locations on Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This free event welcomes all prospective students, their family members and friends.

Individuals who bring their high school transcript, college transcript or GED can complete their CCAC registration. Attendees can take placement tests, meet with an advisor and learn about CCAC's program offerings in the arts and humanities; business; education, social and behavioral sciences and human services; health; science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and the skilled trades. CCAC staff will be on hand to answer questions about admissions and enrollment procedures, financial aid options, transfer and career opportunities, and college services, sports, clubs and other activities. CCAC personnel will also conduct tours of the facilities for interested students and their families.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Associate degree, certificate & diploma programs
  • Programs designed to facilitate easy transfer to four-year colleges & universities
  • In-demand careers that offer strong wages & career growth
  • Scholarships, grants & financial aid opportunities
  • Day, evening, weekend & online course offerings

 In addition, CCAC will offer a variety of activities at the campuses and centers, including:

Allegheny Campus: The campus will assist students with finalizing enrollment for the summer and fall semesters. The campus will also sponsor a student services fair.

Boyce Campus: The campus will offer tours of available allied health and nursing labs. 

North Campus: The campus will offer program information and demonstrations on Computer Information Technology; Multimedia Programming, Simulation & Gaming; English; Psychology; Biology; Physics; and Nursing.

South Campus: The campus will assist students with finalizing enrollment for the summer and fall semesters. The campus will also sponsor a student services fair.

West Hills Center: The campus will feature skilled trades programs such as Automotive Technology, Mechatronics, Welding, and Heating and Air Conditioning. The center will also host a Car Cruise from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
