should bring their Joint Services Transcript, discharge papers (DD214) and
Certificate of Eligibility (if applicable). This open house follows on the news
that CCAC is now providing in-state, in-county tuition rates to all current andformer members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including reservists, their spouses
and their children, regardless of where they reside.
1, 2015, the change is due to the state’s passage of House Bill 131 to comply
with the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014. The state law
confers in-county as well as in-state tuition rates to current and former
members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their dependents attending a community
college in Pennsylvania. CCAC students who qualify are charged the in-state,
in-county rate of $104.75 per credit rather than $209.50 per credit for
in-state, out-of-county, or $314.25 for out-of-state.
“If you are
a veteran, military, reservist or dependent, CCAC will give you the reduced
tuition rate, no matter where you live,” said Dwight Boddorf, director of military and veterans
services at CCAC. “We’re trying to be as comprehensive as we can, for anyone
who has served our country or for their family members, we want to make sure
they get the benefits they deserve.”
for the fourth year in a row, CCAC was named a 2015 Military Friendly®
School by Victory Media. CCAC was also selected as a Top School in
the Military Advanced Education Guide to Colleges & Universities.
CCAC open house locations are open to the media, including still/video cameras.
