PITTSBURGH-The Community College of
Allegheny County is offering a Hospitality Operations Management
Associate Degree program that is now 100 percent online. Students
can complete the degree in as little as two years, and online
classes offer the benefit of a flexible schedule that enables
students or professionals to further their educational goals on
their own time. The program includes an internship in a hospitality
setting and is ideal for aspiring managers who want to continue to
work while taking classes. A certificate program is also available
for individuals who hold a degree in another field or who are
seeking career advancement in the hospitality industry.
This program, which boasts a nearly
100 percent job placement rate, thoroughly prepares students for
foodservice, lodging, health care and recreation management
positions in the growing hospitality industry and
hospitality-related businesses. These include restaurants, hotels
and motels, hospitals, casinos, campgrounds, sports venues,
amusement parks, cruise ships, resorts and clubs.
All classes are taught by
experienced faculty, and a new course in hospitality event planning
is being added for the spring 2020 semester. Additionally, all
credits are transferable for students who want to continue their
education at a four-year college or university.
