PITTSBURGH—Community College of Allegheny County West Hills Center is inviting high school students, parents, community members and local businesses to Manufacturing Day 2016 on Wednesday, October 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Manufacturing Day is an international event where thousands of businesses and schools across North America celebrate modern manufacturing and inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Attendees will participate in facility tours and hands-on demonstrations, talk to employers, and learn about educational opportunities that offer an edge in a competitive market.
CCAC’s day-long event will be divided into two parts. From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., visitors will have an opportunity to participate in a series of short, interactive demonstrations within the Mechatronics and Welding laboratories, take guided facility tours and engage college and local business leaders in a panel discussion focused on manufacturing careers and the future of manufacturing.
Later in the day, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., interactive demonstrations will enable representatives from local industries to see first-hand how CCAC’s Workforce Development division can provide advanced training opportunities for their companies and employees, thus ensuring the continued development of essential skills and expertise needed to remain competitive in an increasingly complex and global environment.
Reservations are encouraged, particularly for large groups, but not required. To RSVP, contact Patricia Kelly Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org or 412.788.7516. You can also RSVP by going to http://www.mfgday.com/events/2016/ccac-west-hills-center-2.
