The Community College of Allegheny County has received a Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, Office of Family Assistance to fund the Health Professions Opportunity: Pathway to Success in Healthcare (PSH) program

The program will provide education and training in three healthcare tracks: Nursing, Emergency Medicine and Medical Records/Health Information Technology. Students can prepare for a career that will pay well and are in high demand throughout the region. Allegheny County residents meeting qualifications may receive tuition, books and childcare assistance.

Applicants must:

  • Be an U.S. Citizen and Allegheny County resident
  • Be a TANF recipient
  • Be low-income at or below 150 percent of the Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) 
  • Have a satisfactory criminal background check and
  • Meet the academic requirements for the program

Programs offered include:

Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician Training
Pre-Nursing/Nursing Program
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Advanced EMT
Paramedic
Clinical Associate/Medical Assistant
Medical Billing & Coding Specialist
Health Information Technology
