CCAC North's innovation lab is a collaborative space that houses our cybersecurity,
data analytics, multimedia programming, simulation and gaming programs. The lab comprises
of a Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) lab, brainstorming space, 24
PC and 24 Apple computer labs and kitchenette for industry meetings. The lab was designed
to promote cross-disciplinary instruction having the capacity for instruction in either
two separate classes or one larger class being facilitated within the space.
Additionally, the primary purpose of the lab is to facilitate dialogue and innovation
between the IT industry, faculty and students with project-based learning developed
through an innovation lab network membership. Please consider joining our growing
list of industry members who work with our faculty and students on industry projects.

Marketing Project-Based Learning: Utilizing our Innovation Lab, students taking the Principles of Marketing class taught
by Tracy McDonough, designed signs to advertise the Economy Borough s 60th Anniversary Celebration. The Parks and Recreation Board voted on the designs and
the sign they have chosen is shown below. Twenty-five of these 18x24 signs were posted
around the borough prior to the event. Students also created social media posts with
additional marketing ideas and strategies which were then incorporated into the community
s outreach efforts.
The Innovation Lab has joined the Virtual Reality Augmented Reality Association (VRARA)
of Pittsburgh. VRARA is a global industry association that strives to offer a connected
local & global community of members through its initiatives like the Industry Committees,
theDirectory, Resources, and via local Chapters that hold local events. Chapters are
run by a local Chapter President that helps coordinate events, case studies, promote
member companies and connect and introduce members in the local community and across
the globe. Many events are open to our MMC students who work in the innovation lab.
