• The CCAC Honors Program

    The CCAC Honors Program unites outstanding students and Honors faculty in the pursuit of academic excellence and the development of personal potential for communication, presentation and leadership skills.

    The Honors Program offers participatory classroom activities that help develop critical thinking skills and independent investigation, increased involvement in college and community service learning projects and participation in regional and national honors conferences.

    • In-county tuition scholarships for all Honors classes and Honors contracts
    • Opportunity to apply for full-tuition Leadership in Honors Scholarship
    • An opportunity to change any course into an Honors Program course by contracts with faculty
    • Opportunity to present Honors research at regional and national Honors conferences
    • Access to an Honors advisor as a supplement to regular academic advisors
    • Notation of Honors degree or Honors course credits on transcript
    • Opportunity to wear Honors cords and/or Honors medallion at graduation
    • Honors Resource Room on each campus-space for studying, gathering, snacking, working
    • Low student-teacher ratio in Honors classes

    The CCAC Honors Program exists to unite outstanding students and faculty in the pursuit and advancement of academic excellence. For students, CCAC Honors promotes participation in a program of scholastic rigor, service to the college and community, opportunities to attend regional and national Honors conferences, and activities to develop leadership skills. Honors students prepare for future life experiences through enriched classroom activities, which will help to develop critical thinking skills, independent investigation and collaborative learning.
