This degree program prepares graduates for entry-level positions in the growing field of clinical laboratory work. Medical laboratory technicians perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Clinical experiences in a variety of health care facilities are included. Employment opportunities exist in hospitals and private laboratories where work is done under the supervision of a pathologist.
Graduates are eligible to take the national examination for certification as medical laboratory technicians.
