Community Engagement and Volunteerism
At CCAC, it is important for students to engage in activities to become active citizens involved on their campus and in their communities. Through this, you will gain leadership skills, become a global citizen, develop civic literacy, and bring awareness to issues that impact our communities.
The best way to get involved in the community is to join a club or organization! There are also other ways to connect and volunteer:
Pittsburgh Cares is a nonprofit affiliate of the HandsOn Network and Points of Light Institute that offers a flexible approach to volunteering by partnering with nonprofit agencies and offering service opportunities to people of all ages.
Turbo Vote is a nonprofit, nonpartisan voter registration service that encourages students to become involved in political action by helping them and others register. This makes voting easy, supports community action, and fosters digital citizenship.
Voting in Pennsylvania is easy - check out the PA state voter website to learn more about your
options, register to vote, check your registration status, and learn what to expect at the polls.
