CCAC Public Safety Institute
The Institute was established in the early 1980s, predominately offering Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs. In the early 1990s CCAC expanded the mission of the Institute to include EMS, Fire, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Vehicle Operations and Emergency Management. PSI trains approximately 15,000 students per year in public safety programs in Allegheny, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren and Washington Counties.

American Heart Association (AHA) ProgramsCCAC is a certified CTC (Community Training Center) where instructors can align and
where AHA training is offered in Heartsaver CPR/AED, Heartsaver First Aid, BLS Provider
(also known as Professional Rescue CPR), BLS Instructor, and both HeartCode ACLS and
HeartCode PALS.
Recertification is also available for anyone involved in public safety as well as for members of the general public who are interested in learning more and includes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Life Support training for both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) providers.
