Biography

Dr. Ashley Ferrainolo is a full-time Associate Speech Professor at Boyce Campus. She earned her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership while focusing on communication in higher education. Dr. Ferrainolo's interest of organizational communication and leadership was developed while earning her Master's of Arts Degree at Duquesne University.

Dr. Ferrainolo brings her enthusiasm of communication, speech, and education to the classroom setting. Her unique perspective in how to teach Speech allows for an interactive and enriching classroom environment. She allows for student expression, learning, and discovery while enhancing the student learning experience.

Dr. Ferrainolo resides in the North Hills with her husband, Philip, daughter, and their beloved dog, Nacho. When she isn't teaching or grading, you can find her outdoors enjoying the few months of warmth and sunshine Pittsburgh has to offer. Even in the cold weather, she enjoys attending Pitt Football games and Pirate games in the Northshore.

 

Dr. Ashley Ferrainolo's research interests are organizational communication, nonverbal communication between students and educators, and understanding effective communication styles for leaders

Dr. Ferrainolo has served on the Slippery Rock University Communication Advisory Board since 2018.
