Examity Online Proctoring

Examity is an online proctoring solution that gives students the flexibility to take exams remotely. It provides teachers, schools and students with the tools they need to prevent cheating and to preserve integrity.*

Examity is an online proctoring solution that gives students the flexibility to take exams remotely. It provides faculty, schools and students with the tools they need to prevent cheating and to preserve integrity. Your faculty may use this tool to either live or auto proctor your exams. The faculty member will detail this requirement in the syllabus. This could mean that you have to scan the area you are choosing to complete the test.

The first step is to set up a profile. It takes less than five minutes. If the exam does not require a live proctor, you are ready to take your exam. Your Examity link in Blackboard contains a resources section that contains quick guides.

If your test requires a live proctor, test-takers have to schedule an exam with Examity. On test day, test-takers' identities are authenticated by the proctor. As soon as the validation process—which will include a room scan—is complete, test-takers can begin their exams. After the final question, test-takers simply submit their exams.

There are minimal system requirements to use Examity. Please click here for more information and to perform a system check to make sure you are ready for exam day. Examity requires the Chrome browser.

If the COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY (CCAC) or your instructor permits you to use Examity at a noncollege location, you should make every effort to choose a location that meets any and all CCAC guidelines. If the location you choose is a home or personal environment, you agree to allow your activity and surrounding workspace to be recorded by video and audio and then analyzed by the proctor and the instructor of the course. Note that CCAC and Examity understand students have a legitimate interest in preserving the privacy of their personal space. Examity does not share proctor videos with other students taking the same exam. Examity will never sell student data and follows strict protocols for securing and retaining data generated during exams.
