Biography
Ken recently left Colorado to follow his wife's dream job at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. In the last year, he served as a full-time instructor at Slippery Rock University, teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology II. At the end of this one-year contract, he found himself at CCAC.
Ken earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he met his wife, and his Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he focused on Cell and Developmental Biology. He has several years of experience teaching undergraduate biology. From 2018 to 2025, he was an adjunct instructor at Arapahoe Community College, where he taught Pathophysiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and General Biology.
During this work, Ken used the Anatomage Table to help students explore anatomical structures, visualize spatial relationships within the human body, and connect anatomy with physiological and clinical concepts. He also developed Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs), giving students opportunities to participate in authentic scientific inquiry as part of their undergraduate coursework.
His teaching interests include innovative instructional technology and hands-on, student-centered learning. He especially enjoys finding ways to make complex scientific concepts more accessible, engaging, and relevant to students.
