A former student stopped by my office to tell me that the skills and strategies they learned in my CRE 103 (Advanced College Reading & Study Skills) course helped them tremendously in their other courses. They proceeded to share how they were able to use the skills and strategies to understand a challenging and lengthy reading assignment, find academic sources for a research project, and set up a study plan for major exams.

I am passionate about teaching Critical Reading courses because I have an opportunity to teach students the necessary skills, strategies and resources to experience academic, professional and personal successes. It is rewarding to see students' confidence increase as they overcome challenges and experience successes.

I am a first generation college student.
