Celebrate 60 Years of CCAC

Join us as we celebrate the Community College of Allegheny County's 60th Anniversary!

Since its founding in 1966, CCAC has flourished, becoming the educational powerhouse it is today—a nationally renowned two-year college dedicated to serving all members of the community. The college of choice for nearly one out of every two adults in the county, CCAC remains an affordable gateway to higher education, providing access to top-ranked academic and workforce programs designed to foster economic prosperity and lifelong career success for the residents of southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond.

As the college commemorates this significant milestone, we invite you to take part as we celebrate the educational journey that has shaped countless lives and empowered students from all walks of life. Throughout what promises to be a jam-packed year, CCAC will celebrate our 60th Anniversary with a series of events for students, faculty, staff, alumni and residents, including a homecoming festival, a formal anniversary celebration and much more. Whether you're a current student, an alum or a valued member of our community, there's something for everyone.

As the year progresses, the college will unveil exciting events, so be sure to check back often for updates.

My Reflections Stories Project

To celebrate CCAC’s 60 years of life-changing impact, the Marketing & Public Relations Department is gathering stories about the college’s history and legacy from the people who know it best—our community. Join us in honoring the college’s rich history by sharing your story through the CCAC 60th Anniversary “My Reflections” Project.

This series of audio stories is open to the entire college community—students, alumni, employees, CCAC board and advisory board members, as well as benefactors and other supporters. From leaders to learners and everyone in between, no story is too small to share. Whether it’s a cherished memory, a pivotal moment, an interaction with a favorite teacher, student, advisor or administrator, or just a great day on campus, we want to hear from you.

Getting involved is easy. Simply book an appointment, visit us at Byers Hall (Room 216) at your scheduled time, we’ll snap a quick headshot and record your story in your words. That’s it. The department will post selected recordings on CCAC’s website, social media accounts and in the College Communicator to create a tapestry of oral histories that chronicle CCAC’s impact on generations of students, faculty and employees.

So don’t wait! If you or someone you know wants to share their CCAC story, schedule an appointment today!
