Biography

Veronica Smith is a graduate of Community College of Allegheny County Nursing Program South Campus May, 1993. Adjunct Faculty from 2015 until 2017 whereby she became a full-time faculty member of the Nursing Program. Professor Smith was awarded tenure status in September, 2022. It has been the greatest reward to be part of an amazing faculty group preparing students to become registered nurses in the State of Pennsylvania.

Professor Smith has experience as medical-surgical nurse, oncology nurse, progressive care nurse, pediatric nurse along with experience as nurse manager and administration.

In 2019 Professor Smith spoke at the National League for Nursing Summit Conference on "Escape Room," an innovative teaching strategy.

She totally enjoys live simulation during laboratory skills class, working as a member of a team, and taking time to engage with students on a regular base to enhance their learning.

Professor Smith is constantly assessing how to better educate future nurses and enjoys how CCAC permits her to educate a wide variety of students.
